Teaching & Learning Development

Office for Teaching and Learning Development (OTLD)

The Office for Teaching and Learning Development (OTLD) was established as a response of the university to the challenge posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic when face-to-face classes were suspended due to the spread of the corona virus, infecting the lives of people. Since in-campus activities were frozen for quite some time, the University, by optimizing its available resources, initiated the conduct of online classes in all of its colleges, branches and campuses nationwide. By adhering to the dictum "No one must be left behind", it introduced two modalities of teaching and learning, namely: online (synchronous and asynchronous) and correspondence.

An office under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, the OTLD supports the academic sector in fostering Outstanding, Technology-aided, Learner-centered, and Dynamic teaching and learning modalities and in benchmarking the best practices in online learning, pedagogy, assessment, and evaluation of technology-aided modalities.

Message from the Director

Mabuhay! Welcome to the OTLD page! We are a young office, which was established to find ways to mitigate education gaps and link faculty and students in a learning environment beyond the traditional classroom. Despite the transpiration brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, the presence of the office became prominent with the introduction of FLEXTEL or flexible technology-enhanced learning. It is a learning design unique to university as it extends its reach to students who attend the full face-to-face classes, limited face-to-face, full online, and correspondence modes of learning delivery.

The world is expanding in many ways and innovations in teaching and learning are always afoot. Hence, the office continues to find avenues to cater to various needs from faculty whose expertise is shared collegially and with students who benefit from the consultations and workshops provided online and in-person. We hope that both teachers and students would valorize the efforts to enable a more vibrant teaching and learning environment in the university.

The OTLD supports the university academic sector in fostering Outstanding, Technology-aided, Learner-centered, and Dynamic teaching and learning that is ready for the future. Feel free to browse our page and learn more about the services we provide for the PUP community.
